Is a MobileMe account free if I just want the Find My iPhone service?

So with ios 4.2 out, and Find My iPhone being free now, I was wondering if the MobileMe account required to get into Find My iPhone was free as well.





Because it requires you to have an Apple ID that ends in an email, but I don't know how to get one.|||New Windows Phone 7 comes free with all these services and is a much nicer phone. I had 3GS and iPhone 4 and now so glad I got my self WP7. I think you are going to see more people switching to WP7 now it is such a nice phone.|||Its free for iPhone 4, iPod touch 4g, iPad 1 and 2 users on 4.2 Just sign in with your apple-id.
